How it works
- Tell us about the plantEquipment, make, fault or project, and where the building is.
- We match a specialistAn independent contractor who works on that equipment in your city.
- They contact you directlyYou get a visit or quote from them. No cost or obligation from us.
When replacement makes sense
- The chiller is 20 to 25 years old or more and repair costs are climbing
- It runs on R22, which is no longer imported for new equipment and is costly to service
- The same compressor or component keeps failing
- Energy use is high or the building has a NABERS rating to improve
- The building load has changed and the chiller is now too big or too small
What a replacement involves
- Site survey and load review, so the new chiller is sized to the building as it is now
- Selection: air-cooled or water-cooled, compressor type, refrigerant and efficiency at part load
- Access planning: crane lifts, road closures, roof or basement access
- Removal of the old chiller, including recovery of the refrigerant
- Installation, pipework, electrical and integration with your BMS
- Commissioning, handover and a maintenance plan
Plan early
New commercial chillers can take months to arrive, and the changeover is best done outside peak cooling season. If your chiller is near the end of its life, start the conversation before it fails. A temporary rental chiller can cover the building during the changeover.

Questions
What does Chiller Connect cost?
Nothing. The specialist quotes you directly and you decide whether to go ahead. If you do, the contractor pays us a referral fee. It is never added to your quote as a separate line.
Should I repair or replace my chiller?
It depends on age, refrigerant, the cost and frequency of repairs, and energy use. A specialist can price both options. Our guide on repairing versus replacing a chiller covers the main factors.
Can I get more than one quote?
Yes. Tell us in your enquiry if you need comparison quotes, for example for a body corporate or tender process.
